In dieser Retrospektive steht jemand im Vordergrund, der in der ehemaligen DDR aufgewachsen ist. Er wurde stark durch den Film "Beatstreet" und den daraus resultierenden Projektionen von HipHop beeinflusst. Trotz Mangel an materiellen Möglichkeiten und Know-How eignete er sich Skillz und Wissen um HipHop an - und andere taten es mit ihm! Enthusiasmus und Improvisationskunst machten es möglich. Die subjektiven Erzählungen und Erinnerungen des Protagonisten werden durch Archivmaterial unterstützt und ergeben eine bizarres und charmantes Bild auf die Entwicklung von HipHop in der DDR.

In the centre this retroperspective is a young man who grew up in the former DDR and who was strongly influenced by the movie "Beatstreet" - and thus also by the images that this film projects about hiphop. Despite of the lack of authentic hiphop-knowledge or goods & tools, he archives skillz and know-how by improvising - and he was not the only one! Enthusiasm about this new phenomenon made it happen. The story is told by interviews and footage from the good old days in the DDR. This all draws a bizarre, nostalgic and charming image about the development of hiphop under a socalist government.
